Weapn OXP: The I-Missile (I for Interceptor)
Overview:
Introducing the new pylon mounted weapon from Solotek Weapons Division. It is slightly larger than standard missiles, and sports a powerful rocket engine. The result is a missile that when launched will intercept any of the standard ships running away on injectors. It is highly resistant to ECM and in fact will reflect such counter measures back onto the target which enhances the missiles guidance system. The primary advantage of this weapon is its pursuit velocity. However, it delivers a smaller payload than standard missiles and as such may not outright destroy large or heavily shielded craft.
It can be purchased at tech level 6 systems for 500 credits. However, if the user is an unflagging supporter of the Galactic Navy, it can be purchased for considerably less at Navy SecCom Stations.
Warning:
The I Missile is so fast it may slam into your ship and be destroyed. This is primarily due to poorly declared missile_launch_positions that are not outside of your ships bounding box. To negate this, pitch up when firing at targets ahead and down at targets behind.
The chance of NPC ships being equipped with this is 0.001. Best precaution is quick identification and a quick exit from your ship if an I-Missile is homing in. You will only have a few seconds.
Minimum Requirements:
Tested with Oolite 1.77.1 Probably works with earlier versions.
Installation:
After unzipping, move or copy the folder, "I-Missile.oxp" into your AddOns folder. Where that resides depends on your Oolite installation.
